We will not sell your personally identifiable information to anyone without your consent. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect from you, how we use, share and protect this information, and what choices you have with respect to your information. This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information we collect from you when you visit our Site, sign up to receive the latest deals, news and information from us, place an order or make a purchase at our Site, or otherwise register your email address or other contact information with us.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the Clean WaterNet, Ltd. d/b/a SplashLink Website User Agreement (the “User Agreement”), which applies to this Privacy Policy. To read the User Agreement, click here.

The Types of Information We Collect

We collect certain personal and/or organizational information from you when you contact us or when you register for an account, make a purchase, place an order, establish an organizational profile, use select SplashLink services or sign up to receive news and promotions at the Site.  In general, we collect the following type of information about customers:

Account Registration Information. Users are required to create a Site account prior to using the Site. When you sign up for an account with us, we collect and store your first and last name, organization name, e-mail address and password, which are necessary to creating your account, as well as mailing address, phone number and other contact information to enable us to provide support to you in the use our services.  If you choose not to provide us with this information, you may not be able to access parts of our Site or receive the follow-up support that comprise the breadth of services that SplashLink provides.

We also may collect and store other optional information from you, such as information about your title, preferences or interests, demographic information, and organizations with which you are affiliated.

Purchase Information. If you make a purchase through the Site, we collect your payment information, such as your credit or debit card number, expiration date and other information necessary to process your payment. We use this information only to process your purchase. For your protection, SplashLink uses secure third-party credit card processing services and Shopify, and these third-party services do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purposes.  SplashLink does not store your credit card billing information anywhere, at any time, within the SplashLink system.  If you are a registered user and you choose to save billing information regarding your account for renewals and/or future purchases, SplashLink’s third-party credit card processing services, and not SplashLink, will retain this information to apply to your renewal(s) and/or additional purchases or upgrades at your discretion. When you make purchases from us, we collect and store information about your purchase history, such as purchase date, order amount, items purchased, payment method and the like.

Organizational Profile Information. Within your account, your account administrator may, at his or her discretion, create a profile of your organization within SplashLink for other SplashLink users to find your organization and better understand your Organization’s background, offerings, interests and expertise, as well as how to contact your organization for connection or relationship development.  In addition, if your account with SplashLink is activated by way of your membership within another organization, such as an industry association or cluster, that sponsoring organization may use your organization’s profile information – but not your personal information, such as your e-mail address – to learn how to better develop programming and other services to support your organization’s needs and interests.

To ensure the integrity of the profile created for your account, only an administrator on your account may create and edit your organizational profile, and is given full control over what information is provided within this profile.  Furthermore, only the account administrator can choose to make your organization’s profile visible (or to hide this profile from) within the SplashLink Directory, and this option may be changed or updated at any time by way of a simple checkbox within the profile.  Much like an advertisement or entry in any other directory, if your account’s administrator chooses to make your organization’s profile visible within the directory, other general users on SplashLink will be able to access the profile information provided to learn more about your organization.

Bid-, Project-, Funding- and Other Related Market-Opportunity Information. SplashLink collects publicly available information regarding funding-, capital- or support-offering opportunities as well as industry-related bids, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, projects, tenders, and other equipment or service-related requests to enable users to respond to or engage around these business opportunities, as well as to develop relationships with individuals or organizations that may be making these types of offers or requests.  In addition, SplashLink enables users to post these types of opportunities directly through the Site.  Any opportunities posted through SplashLink may include contact information of the Requestor as well as contact information for individual(s) identified as informational contacts relating to the post, only as obtained either through public sources, or as specified by a user entering this information through the SplashLink Site for the express purposes of this information being made available to market stakeholders for response or follow-up.  Select SplashLink services enable users who wish to make requests or offerings available through SplashLink the option to use a “proxy” when posting, in which case the personally identifiable information associated with the opportunity will be withheld within the post and will not be made available for general access.

Site Activities and Other Information. We use cookies and other tracking technologies to automatically collect information about you when you visit our Site or use our services, including IP address, browser type, operating system, date and time of visit, time spent on and/or logged in to Site, pages visited, links clicked, items viewed, items added to your shopping cart, referring URL and other Site activity. We also collect and store information about any inquiries or communications you submit to us, and any promotions in which you participate at our Site. In addition, we collect your e-mail address and name if you sign up to receive information about the latest promotions and information from SplashLink. We may combine this Site information with the personal information we have collected from and about you.

Support, Sales and/or “Contact Us” Inquiries. If you contact us with questions or for sales, technical, billing or other inquiries, we will ask you for and store information such as your first and last name, organization name, e-mail address and/or phone number as well as information about the nature of your inquiry.  We may also collect and store other optional information from you, such as information about your organization, preferences or interests, demographic information, and other organizations with which you are affiliated.  This information may be recorded and stored within our secure Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to help us to better service you and evolve our offerings as described below.

  • To investigate, prevent or take action regarding violations of this Privacy Policy or the User Agreement;
  • To share with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors or agents that perform functions on your behalf who have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of your personal information and to only use it for the purposes for which they have been engaged by us;
  • If SplashLink is acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, to transfer the information we have collected from you to the acquiring company;
  • To comply with the law, a judicial proceeding, court order, subpoena or other legal process.
  • To share with the appropriate authorities where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety, rights or property of any person or party, or violations of our User Agreement or this Privacy Policy.

In order to improve our services and partner with others, we also may use, analyze, and/or share with third parties aggregated or de-identified information about users for marketing, advertising, research, market intelligence or other purposes. For example, if we display advertisements on behalf of a third party, we may share aggregate, demographic and/or user-defined profile “expertise” and/or “interests” information with that third party about the users to whom advertisements are displayed or promotional communications are targeted, but this information will not contain personally identifiable information.

International Privacy Laws

If you are visiting the SplashLink Site from outside the United States, please be aware that you are sending information (including Personal Data) to the United States where our secure servers are located.  That information may then be transferred within the United States or back out of the United States to other countries outside of your country of residence, depending on the type of information and how it is stored by us.  These countries (including the United States) may not necessarily have data protection laws as comprehensive or protective as those in your country of residence; however, our collection, storage and use of your Personal Data will at all times continue to be governed by this Privacy Policy.

Accessing and Updating Your Account Information

If you are a registered user, you may access and update your account (and if you are an administrator on the account, your organization’s profile) information by logging into your account at any time.

If you believe that the information we have about you is incorrect, you are welcome to contact us so we can update it and keep your data accurate.  Any data that is no longer needed for the purposes specified in the “How We Use the Information We Collect” section of this Privacy Policy will be deleted.  If at any point you wish for SplashLink to delete information about you, you can simply contact us by clicking here.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

When you interact with the Site, we strive to make your experience easy and meaningful. We may use or engage others to use cookies, clear gifs and other means to track user activity and collect site data. We may combine this data with the personal information we have collected.

Cookies. When you come to the Site, our web server sends a cookie to your computer. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser for record-keeping purposes. There are two types of cookies: session-based and persistent-based cookies. In addition, we may permit certain third party cookies to be placed on our Site.

  • Session Cookies. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your computer when you close your browser or turn off your computer. We use session cookies to allow our systems to uniquely identify you during a session or while you are logged in to the Site. This allows us to process your online transactions and requests, store the items you have added to your shopping cart and verify your identity, after you have logged in as you move through our Site.
  • Persistent Cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your computer after you have closed your browser or turned off your computer. We use persistent cookies to track information about user activity, which may be combined with other user information.
  • Third Party Cookies. We may also engage third parties to track and analyze non-personally identifiable Site data. We use the data collected by such third parties to help us administer and improve the quality of the Site and Services and to analyze usage. We do not provide these third parties with any personal information that we have collected about you. However, we do not have access to or control over these third party cookies nor does this Privacy Policy cover such third parties’ use of data.

Disabling Cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but if you prefer you can edit your browser options to block them in the future and you may be able to use other “Do Not Track” browser settings. The Help portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your computer from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, how to disable cookies altogether or how to alter the browser’s setting to disable user tracking. Site visitors who disable their web browser’s ability to accept cookies or alter user tracking will be able to browse the Site; however, certain Site features may not function if you disable cookies.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs). We or the third parties we engage to track and analyze Site data may employ clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs) to help us better manage content on the Site. We currently utilize a third-party service provider to collect, analyze, and generate reports on Site usage. The third-party service provider may use clear gifs to gather analytics data about our Site. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your computer’s hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages.

Security and How We Protect Your Information

We want the information that you submit to us to be secure. We have implemented commercially reasonable precautions to protect our Site and services, as well as the information we collect from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. For example, when you submit your credit card number or personal information to us online, that information is encrypted and protected with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which is the current industry standard and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions, so that it cannot be read over the internet. We have also implemented robust access controls to safeguard against unauthorized access to our information systems. Please be aware that despite our best efforts, no data security measures can guarantee security all of the time. There are also certain steps you should take to safeguard your account and information. For example, you should select a secure password that only you know, and should always sign out of our account when finished. It is your responsibility to protect the confidentiality of your password in order to prevent unauthorized access to your account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account and password. You should immediately change your password and notify us if you discover or suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

Data Retention

SplashLink will only retain the personal data that we collect for as long as your account is active or otherwise for a limited period of time as long as we need it to fulfill the purposes for which we have initially collected this data not to exceed three (3) years, unless otherwise required by law or as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements as follows:

·         Financial transactions and applicable billing information will be retained for a period of seven (7) years as of their provision as required by United States tax law

·         Information on legal, contractual and/or terms of service transactions between you and SplashLink will be retained for the period the transaction covers (e.g. if your contract with SplashLink is a two-year agreement, we will keep it for this period), plus five (5) years for our mutual reference
